Help me do my part to support people affected by Alzheimer’s & dementia and their caregivers!
As CaringKind's new President and CEO I am excited about this year's CaringKind Alzheimer’s Walk. I will be walking for the over 5 million Americans that have Alzheimer’s and am raising awareness and funds for programs, services, support, and care for all New Yorkers.
Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. The number of Americans with Alzheimer’s will increase significantly over the next two decades. Alzheimer’s disease is not backing down, and neither am I! I am determined to make an impact on Alzheimer’s and I need your support to do my part! By making a donation, you are helping CaringKind, The Heart of Alzheimer’s Caregiving to provide free information, assistance and support for those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as for their family members, caregivers and professionals.
For close to thirty years I have heard from caregivers who have been helped by CaringKind; who attended one of our 85 Support Groups, called the 24 Hour Helpline, met with one of our outstanding social workers, enrolled in the Wanderer's Safety Program or attended one of our Family Caregiver Workshops. A diagnosis of Alzheimer's or a related dementia is frightening and most people don't know where to start. At CaringKind, they find a hand to hold, a breath of relief, and information to reassure. We provide guidance throughout the long journey, so no one has to go through this alone.
Please give as generously as possible. 95% of CaringKind's revenue comes from private support, and the Walk is a critical activity which allows us to continue to help the thousands of families we serve every year, free of charge.
