Help me do my part to support people affected by Alzheimer’s & dementia and their caregivers!
Hello world! My grandfather passed away when I was 2 years old from Alzheimer’s. He is the one person I wish I could meet - I've said this ever since I was a kid. He was a war hero who served our country in three wars, a loving husband, father, and grandfather - nothing short of an astounding man. Plus, he put up with my grandmother which was no easy task...
The disease claimed his life at just 66 years old.
Today, progressive dementia has made its way into our tiny family again. My aunt (his daughter) has late stage dementia that has drastically escalated over the past year. It's one of the hardest things to watch a close family member go through – it’s unpredictable, uncontrollable and transforming.
In their honor, I am joining the Athlete’s to End Alzheimer’s team to run the NYC Half Marathon on March 18th. My goal is to raise $1,500 for CaringKind by March 1st.CaringKind is a NY based Alzheimer’s organization that delivers support services for people affected by Alzheimer’s/dementia and progressive research to eliminate Alzheimer’s. Any donations that you can give are much appreciated.
I'm competing to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating as a member of team Athletes to End Alzheimer's, I’m committed to raising awareness and funds for CaringKind, The Heart of Alzheimer's Caregiving which provides free information, assistance and support for those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as for their family members, caregivers and professionals
Currently, over 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's, and the number of Americans with Alzheimer’s will increase significantly over the next two decades, with expectations that the population of people age 65 and older will double
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to CaringKind to help me reach my goal. Your donation makes an impact on Alzheimer’s!
