HELP ME DO MY PART TO SUPPORT PEOPLE AFFECTED BY ALZHEIMER’S & DEMENTIA AND THEIR CAREGIVERS!
For the 7th consecutive year, to help those affected by Alzheimer’s, I am training for and participating in the New York City Half Marathon as a member of team Athletes to End Alzheimer's. This year's event will take place on Sunday, March 18, 2017.
Currently, over 5 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Alzheimer's is a degenerative and fatal disease of the brain for which there is currently no cure. People with Alzheimer's disease slowly lose their ability to remember, think, and communicate, ultimately becoming totally dependent on others for their daily care. I am sure many of you have your own stories about how Alzheimer's disease touched your lives or the lives of loved ones. For me, my grandmother's life was severely complicated by this disease.
Please make a donation to help CaringKind, The Heart of Alzheimer's Caregiving, which provides free information, assistance and support for those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as for their family members, caregivers and professionals.
Thank you for your past interest and willingness to continue to support our movement!
