Help me do my part to support people affected by Alzheimer’s & dementia and their caregivers!
I am participating in the CaringKind Alzheimer’s Walk for the over 5 million Americans that have Alzheimer’s and am raising awareness and funds for programs, services, support, and care for all New Yorkers.
I am walking to honor my late father, Anthony Gennaro Vitale, who passed away in August after declining into dementia for the past five years. My father was a kind loving man who empowered me to become the woman I am today. We shared music, singing together and playing the piano each time I visited him in Ohio.
Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. The number of Americans with Alzheimer’s will increase significantly over the next two decades. Alzheimer’s disease is not backing down, and neither am I! I am determined to make an impact on Alzheimer’s and I need your support to do my part! By making a donation, you are helping CaringKind, The Heart of Alzheimer’s Caregiving to provide free information, assistance and support for those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as for their family members, caregivers and professionals.
The CaringKind Alzheimer’s Walk is New York City’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care & support. The event is held annually in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. Everyone affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia including caregivers, friends, family, sponsors, volunteers and community leaders are encouraged to attend for a day full of remembrance, promise and hope.
I have named my team in honor of the Threshold Choir of New York City. Our mission is to sing for and with those at the thresholds of life.
Please consider walking and/or making a donation. I would like to reach a personal goal of $1500 and team goal of $2000 by September 19, 2016, which would have been my father’s 91st birthday.
Thank you for helping me in my efforts for the CaringKind Alzheimer’s Walk!
