Help me do my part to support people affected by Alzheimer’s & dementia and their caregivers!

I am participating in the CaringKind Alzheimer’s Walk for the over 5 million Americans that have Alzheimer’s and am raising awareness and funds for programs, services, support, and care for all New Yorkers.

Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. The number of Americans with Alzheimer’s will increase significantly over the next two decades. Alzheimer’s disease is not backing down, and neither am I! I am determined to make an impact on Alzheimer’s and I need your support to do my part! By making a donation, you are helping CaringKind, The Heart of Alzheimer’s Caregiving to provide free information, assistance and support for those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as for their family members, caregivers and professionals. Advocacy and research remain an integral part of our mission, but our core mission is in supporting individuals with the disease and their family and professional caregivers.

As Executive Vice President of CaringKind, I hear from families who are so grateful for the free programs of care and support that we provide. As one client wrote to me recently, " I don't know how to put into words the gratitude I  have toward you for listening; simply listening. This journey has been so difficult and painful - and just when I thought no one cared - you worked miracles for me and Doug. (name changed.)  Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

Whether it's speaking to one of our dementia care specialists on the 24 hour Helpline, or receiving guidance from a social worker, participating in a support group, attendng an education or training session, or enjoying a special concert for persons with Alzheimer's at Lincoln Center, thousands of families find comfort in connecting to our outstanding staff and volunteers.

We depend on the generosity of our donors and supporters to keep our services free and available to all who need them. As the demand for our services grows, this year's Walk is especially important as a source of awareness and revenue. Please give as generously as you can. Donations of $250 or  $500 or more are especially welcome, but any amount helps.

Thank you for helping me in my efforts for the CaringKind Alzheimer’s Walk!
