IN MEMORY OF ARLENE SKELSKEY AND ALL THOSE WHO HAVE STRUGGLED WITH ALZHEIMER'S AND RELATED DEMENTIAS.
I'm running the New York City marathon as a member of the Athletes to End Alzheimer's team. I've joined the team to raise awareness and funds for CaringKind which offers education, assistance, and support for those with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, as well as for their family members, caregivers, and professionals.
Those who know me know this is a cause near and dear to my heart: I've seen three of my grandparents, family of friends, and those around them struggle with the debilitating effects of Alzheimer's disease. It is as a result of these experiences that I ask you to support CaringKind.
Support can take many forms and I appreciate whatever you can offer. Most important are your thoughts, re-tweets, likes, shares, and encouragement as we raise awareness about the disease(s). We've seen the number of Americans with Alzheimer's disease triple over the course of my lifetime, and many expect this number to double in the next decade. Sadly, many are unaware of the incredible pain caused by this disease until they have a direct experience. Mass awareness and understanding is the first step in addressing a problem like this. Share, share, share.
If you're able, I also ask you consider a donation on this page to help me reach my fundraising goal. I will personally match every dollar raised here, so your dollar has double the impact.
